she has not transfered the title. am i liable?


What is the name of your state? Illinois

my wife and i are separated. i had this car before we were married,i signed the title and sold it to her. she has not had
it transfered to her name. it is still insured in my name. i found
out she has been letting her boyfriend drive it.

i feel i have to keep it insurance because it is still in my name.
am i liable? what are my rights? what can i do?

My response:

As long as the car is in your name, then you would be on the hook if either she, or her boyfriend, gets into an "at fault" accident.

Did you ever think of calling the DMV for instructions?
