Side-swiped a car, insurance covered costs, BUT...

I side-swiped a car in late September, got home today and was issued a Civil Summons saying I'm being sued for a "loss of value in the sum of $5,000.00" for a early to mid 90's Grand Am. I know that this loss of value is MAJORLY inflated, but would like to know if this claim is justified? Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks.

I was just talking to Seniorjudge and she told me that the blue book value of a 1993 Grand Am is between 2,300 - 4,500 depending on condition.

This is one time I agree with that loud mouth B..it..h (seniorjudge), you are truely getting the run around. I would demand itemized details on the repair costs. It looks like you could replace the entire Grand Am for less than $5000.

Take the summons to your insurance agent. They are obligated to provide a lawyer for your defense.
