Slip & Fall Injury

I initiated a Slip/Fall Injury claim 02/2001 thru an atty. The injury was a broken leg caused by slipping on ice in front of my condo. How long does it take to resolve a claim such as this? What is the range $$$ of damages?

Generally 2-5 years.
0+ in monetary damages.

Who are you suing? It was in front of YOUR condo. When there is dampness and cold, ice will form. Not a lawyer, but this sounds like another frivilous lawsuit and someone trying to make a buck. Are you suing the maintenance people for not salting the walkways? Better read the paperwork from when you bought the condo.

Hey dabear !
It's OBVIOUS that you're not an attorney.
It explains why you'd shoot your mouth off without knowing all the facts.
Thanks for nothing !

Shooting my mouth off

If you would have presented all the facts then the readers would have had all the facts. Sue happy people are what make insurance rates so high. If you have a viable claim then ask your attorney about the possible length of time. But to ask how much money you would possibly receive sounds like you fall into the sue happy category. I'm sure you would get the $$$ for medical bills and $$$ for any work missed. But you probably want more, right?

Sounds like you yourself didn't have your brain engaged before operating your own mouth. Can only go by what you posted, which was you slipped on ice in front of YOUR condo. Where was the ice? On the sidewalk, on your steps, on the street in front of the condo? Were you wearing proper footwear for icy conditions, meaning did you go outside in normal shoes or wearing winter boots with a non-slip sole? Were you hurrying or walking carefully? What time of day was it? Could you see that it was icy?

Those are the facts Dabear is referring to which anyone would need to give you an answer, Genius.
