Son injured in auto accident

Texas - My son had an auto accident where a guy pulled out in front of him. The guy was ticked & his ins comp has assumed responsibility. His injuries turned out to be minor, and he seems fine now. He was very shook up though since his girlfriend was taken in by ambulance - she turned out to be okay also. Medical bills for my son - appox $1275. Ins comp offered settlement of $1775. Is this a fair settlement?

Forgot to mention...

His truck was totalled, which we have already settled that part of the claim. Not sure if that matters or not.
