| Sons vehicle totaled while parked by an unisured motorist What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin
My son (23) was visiting his girlfriend 4 hours north and west of Milwaukee. They had gone to a fair or festival and when they returned, a guy in a dump truck who had been drinking and did not have insurance had totaled his vehicle. We are not really even sure if this guy is in jail.
Granted bluebook on this 92 Blazer is only like $500 to $1000, it was in excellent shape and he relied on it for going to school (college) and work. Now he is without a car for the duration of this semester before he transfers to a different college in January of 2009 along with at the different school. He worked evenings, weekends and coaches a high school freshman football team during the season to get the money to buy this, pay the insurance and gas but now he will only have what he gets for coaching. He nor I can really afford to get him anything at this time. That vehicle may have been cheap by bluebook but to him it was worth 10 times more.
With this guy not having had any insurance, is there any recourse that may help pay for a different vehicle? He is really a great kid and a hard worker but won't be able to work and get the money up to buying anything in the very near future. His past evening and summer money is accounted for as it is with school costs. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?Wisconsin
