Going in a direction, the last speed limit sign before an intersection is 35. That sign is relatively far from the intersection. Right after the intersection it is 45. If the accident was within the intersection, what is the speed limit? The officer wrote 40 in the report, and the vehicle's speed was stated as 40 as well.

I would think if you hadn't reached the 45 mph sign yet, technically, the 35 mph limit would still apply. Others may have a different opinion.
