I received medical treatment over a year ago. The group handling the claims billed me and I paid it in January 2000. In January 2000 they transferred collection to another firm and SOMEHOW did not indicate I had paid my bill. Now, almost a year later, the new firm is billing me again. I cannot find my returned check to prove I paid it. When I call the previous company for information I get a recording referring me to the new company. Is there any statute of limitations on billing procedures?
