My Mother died in l968 after having a a total hysterectomy. Nurses told my sister later that the doctor cut into her kidney, she died of an infection and internal bleeding. Just this month, I sent for a copy of her death certificate and the doctor said on the certificate that the two causes of death were A. total hysterectomy B. Post operative psychosis-----this in completely insane! The doctor isn't alive any longer, but I would like to sue the hospital. Her death completely changed our lives, for the worse, my sisters and I were 16, 18, and 22.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

On what grounds? Even if you had a cause of action, guess what??????? Statute of limitations has completely run out!

You are right with the question you posted. Usually medical malpractice claims have statute of limitations like 2 or 3 or 4 years, but definitely not over 30 years.

Enjoy your mom's memory and perhaps take your money and put it towards a charity involved in preventing this type of medical malpractice.
