dogbite

Guest
I was bitten in the face by a dog almost a year ago. My doctor thinks my surgerys are done now. The insurance company of the dog's owner has recently been negotiating for a settlement. It is not going well. Even though I would like to settle out of court, I want to make sure that I don't accidently give up my right to file a lawsuit by waiting too long. I live in Illinois which is also where the attack occurred. I was told by the insurance company that I have two years from the time of the attack. I want to make sure that this is accurate.

Thank you for your help.
