What is the name of your state?Georgia

My friend was involved in a strange, and quite ridiculous case of property damage at a gas station. He forgot to remove the nozzle before driving off, and proceeded to yank the hose out of the pump. Once he realized what had happened he stopped and got out of the car. It was 2AM and there was no attendant at the station. We looked for a pencil/pen to leave a note but couldn't find one in the car. Since it was so late and we were on a 8 hour journey, we just gave up and left. This occurred in a state far away from our own. What is the best course of action?

Thanks

Look up the station on Google Maps. If you know approximately where you were and what kind of station it was, you should be able to find them. Call them. Chances are they got you on camera and will track you down eventually anyway, might as well make it easy for them. Also, notify your insurance company.

This happened to a co-worker of mine who realized his mistake when he looked in his side mirror and saw the hose flapping. He was extremely embarrassed, but took the nozzle and hose back. The person working at the station told him that it happens fairly often and the hoses are designed to "break away" and they just snap them back on.
