total loss vehicle

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)
I am a co-signer on a vehicle that was in an accident in louisiana
and the insurance has said it's a total loss and now want me to sign a power of attorney before they release the settlement to me. Should I sign before
i get the amount of the settlement or should they give me the settlement amount first.

The insurance company is not going to release the settlement till you sign. If you want the money, sign.

Yes, you need to sign first if you want the money.
