Totalled and Confused

undefinedWhat is the name of your state? I live in Kentucky and during a hail storm a month or so ago, my 1999 Pontiac Montana Van was damaged slightly (roof mainly). In doing what I thought was the right thing to do, I filed a claim with my insurance company. However, before doing so, I had an estimate from a local body shop. Then upon filing the claim there was an adjustor (from the insurance company)who came to my home to look at my van for an estimate. After a couple of days, I was informed that they had deemed my vehicle a total loss. It was actually estimated at 74.87% However, I have yet to see the actual figures the adjustor came up with which concerns me because there was actually previous minor dents and dings that were NOT caused by this hail storm. Long story short, the ins company is telling me that I have to file for a salvage title which I really don't want to do. I've only had this van since the end of February! Today I went to another body shop for an estimate and made sure they only assessed the actual hail damage. I'm satisfied with the estimate, can I fight the ins co's decision? Do I have grounds? Help!! Thanks!
