today my boyfriend and i were both pulled over on the highway by the same officer, in new hampshire. i was driving in the left lane, and my boyfriend was about 50 ft. ahead of me, and all of a sudden an unmarked car flew up beside me and crossed in front of me. Then, his blue sirens went off when he was behind my boyfriend and he pointed with his finger to pull over.
I had no idea whether or not he was talking to me, so i pulled over along with my boyfriend. the officer then came up to my window and informed me that he clocked both my boyfriend and i at 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. My question is, how could he clock us both at the same speed, when he was so far ahead of me, and is it possible for him to pull both of us over at the same time? i dont think he intended to pull me over, but when he saw that i was going to stop, he decided to kill two birds with one stone. the thing is, i am positive that i was not going 82 miles per hour, my car is hardly able to do that!
So now i want to fight my 115 dollar ticket, and im a little afraid of what will happen in court. do you think i have a winning case? i know that i was not guilty, but im afraid the judge might think that im wrong. i have no idea whether or not its possible to clock two people at the same speed, and then pull us over together, please let me know what you all think. also, it was december 30th, so im thinking he may have had to fill his quota or something.
Thanks for the advice, i really appreciate it!
