Back in Oct 2000 I was rearended. The owner of that car only has 25.000 insurance. Her car was a Chevy 2000 ( state laws requires 25.000 minimum )
I had personal injuries etc..but I can only sue up to 25.000 from her insurance.
I was told by a friend to check MY insurance policy under "underinsured" ?? When I contacted MY insurance and asked about this, I was informed that I have to carry at LEAST 50.000 to be able to sue my insurance. ( my underinsured was 25.000)
My question is this.......why am I paying $22 dollars for underinsured policy if I can not collect on it?... and did the insurance company tell me the truth?
