My adult son was involved in a accident recently, damage was minor and no police report was filed. he was driving his own truck which he needs to use as part of his job and was in fact "on the clock" when the accident occured. Although the accident was not his fault (yet to be proven) he does not have any insurance. The other party involved was insured but isn't admitting fault.
My questions are:
1) Would he be automaticaly covered under his employers insurance since he was performing duties of his employment
even though he is the owner of the vehicle involved?
2) If not covered by his employers insurer, will his licence be suspended even if he's found to not be the at fauld driver? What is the amount of the fine that the courts usually impose for no insurance?
3) Can he himself file a claim for the damage to his vehicle against the other party's insurer? If the other party is found to be not at fault can he still file a claim against the other party's insurer?
Thank you very much for any thoughts and suggestions.
