uninsured motorist

What is the name of your state? I live in Wisconsin. I just received a letter from the DMV to complete insurance information request. There was an accident happened behind my car. There are like four cars behind me involved in that accident. Due to that impact that accident gave my car a little push at the back. So I am wondering why the DMV is asking about the information from me. Since I am uninsured, I am planning to get an insurance policy and I am wondering if this can be a problem of getting one. What will happened if I failed to provide information to the DMV?

My response:

Wisconsin is a "mandatory insurance" State. The DMV wants to know if you were insured on the date of the accident. Getting insurance now will help you to mitigate future potential problems with the State; however, the fact remains that you didn't have insurance on the accident date. The DMV will, whether you fill out the form or not, suspend your license and send you notification of a fine that must be paid. If you continue to fail to cooperate, you stand the chance of having your driving privileges revoked permanently.

even it is not my fault? I am not the one who caused any accident. The car behind me gave my car a little pushed? so how in this case will the DMV revoked my liscence? for not being insured and the other party hit my car?

My response:

It doesn't matter that whether the accident was your fault. What matters to the State was whether you were insured, and complying with the law.
