Unsure of what to do

What is the name of your state?I live in Ohio and on Saturday night I was involved in an accident. I was changing lanes and didn't see anyone in the right lane and I was in the left lane. I looked, signaled, and continued to look as I changed lanes. I really do not know how I missed the car that was in the right lane. As I got over, my car started shaking and I realized that I had hit someone. The back right corner of my car was scratched and the front and front left corner of the other drivers car. We pulled into a parking lot and the other driver insisted on calling the police. We waited for a long time and never really talked about what happened. When the officer arrived he asked what happened and immediately the other driver told him that I was changing lanes and hit her. He asked me if this was true and I neither agreed nor disagreed; I simply said that I was changing lanes. I was never asked what happened by the officer I was just given a ticket. At the time I was very nervous and didn't really know how to address the situation because I've never had to deal with anything even remotely like this before. I know I should have spoke up at this time, but I was really scared. But, I feel like the other driver was trying to scam me. She had just been in another accident 2 months before on the other front side of her car- and she could have easily stopped when she saw that I was getting over. I think that she caused the accident on purpose trying to get money out of me. Both cars are only scratched and there are no dents in either, but she is claiming that she needs a new hood now and there is no way her hood was even affected by this accident. I want to contest the ticket but I'm not sure if I really have any grounds to do so. If I went to court would I have any chance of being found not at fault?

You made an unsafe lane change and were properly ticketed for that. There is nothing to dispute.

As far as the damage goes, just tell you insurance company what happened. You did damage her car and she will be compensated, but insurance companies aren't stupid. They're not going to pay for damage done to the right front of her car when it was the left front that was hit.
