My son put his car in the shop for repairs, and then received a call from the auto shop that his car had been broken into, vandalized and his personal belongings which included his valuable stereo system had been stolen, and that the seats were ripped out of the car. There was no damage to any other vehicle, and the shop said there is nothing that they can do. Is the shop liable? My son only has liability insurance since this is an older car. Should he file a police report, what else can he do? Please help.
