vehicle damage

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ohio

My babies were in the car and I drove.
I stopped at intersection. suddenly, traffic sign fell off and it hit to windshield on my car.
It cost $17,000 to fix it, I claimed it to the city of cincinnati. They denied. I sue them and we were in a small claims court one time and they want to have a continuance. we're going to be in trial again in a month. I have no lawyer, judice said, she will give me a chance to argue with the city of cincinnati on next trial. I need someone's legal advice.

Get a lawyer. Also, if you're suing for actual damages, I doubt small-claims court is going to get you all that back plus legal fees.

There is no windshield in the universe that costs 17 THOUSAND DOLLARS to fix.
