What can I do?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey

Alright here's the story. This happened exactly 2 weeks ago. I'm 17 years old and I was going to the diner after prom and I got pulled over. I got a speeding ticket and a ticket for being out after curfew on my provisional license. After the diner I was heading home and my 17 year old friend backed into my car. I honked twice and she failed to stop, she dented my door with damages worth $1100, everyone saw it happen. She said she'd pay, but now she's only willing to pay little by little and whenever it's convenient for her. She says if I try to take this to court I'll get my license suspended and a $5000 fine for driving after I got a ticket. She wasn't allowed to be driving either but I already got a ticket before so I guess it's alot worse on my end. So even though the accident was completely her fault, I really can't do anything to make her pay.

Is there anything I can do besides hope she eventually pays up the money?

Thank you.

She can't have your license suspended. Have your parents sue her and owner of the vehicle.

Are you sure? Because I shouldn't have been driving the car again after getting a ticket.

Do you think it's worth taking this to court?
Lawyer fees and everything would add up I guess.

Also it would be helpful if anyone could tell me how to go about this, Do I need to find a lawyer and explain him the situation or something?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it so much.

Call her parents because I am sure the vehicle is in their name, meaning it's their vehicle.

They may report it to their insurance company who can come back and pick up the damages.

You don't have to go to court. If she won't give you her insurance information, report it to YOUR insurance company who may be able to help you get that information. Hopefully, the car does belong to her parents and not to her because in NJ, property damage liability is not strictly required. They have "dollar a day" policies which are PIP only, and it is legal to drive with only that. Ridiculous, but true.
