What is the name of your state? ma

i was in a hit an run accident. i managed to get the license plate number of the driver who hit me. since i don't have full coverage on my car i was told to file a third party claim under his insurance.

when i filed the claim, he didn't file a claim yet. also the police that came to the scene said the fact that he ran away is a bad part on him.

however, the insurance company concluded that i was at fault. if the driver that hit me decides to sue me, what are the chances of him winning the case?

if i were to get my own lawyer, what are the chances of me winning?

All you said was that you were involved in a hit and run. But we don't know what happened. We can't determine fault just because the driver left the scene.

If you were at fault, then you have insurance (presumably enough) to pay the claim. If there is enough coverage under the policy, there shouldn't be a reason for them to sue you afterwards. You shouldn't have to worry about a lawyer, since your insurance company will pay to defend you (up to your policy limits).
