What to do when the Ins. Co's settle?

What is the name of your state? NewYork. Accident occured in Mass.

I was involved in a collision in which another driver merged into my vehicle in a rotary. I called the police who stated that because there were no injuries they would not report to the scene. We both contacted our ins.. The companies decided to settle because of our conflicting stories. A) How does this effect my rates? B) what does this mean for my prior flawless driving record? C) What's the best advice for someone like me? I did everything I could have with little assistance from the authorities. And the other driver gave a very inaccurate version of the story. What do I do? Would it be worth it to pursue legal action?

If your insurance company has agreed to assign you partial fault, then you'll have to sue them. Honestly, it's really not worth it. Hopefully they won't raise your rates based on your spotless driving record.
