I was in a accident in which I didnt hit any other cars or pedestrians, but I had a passenger in my car that was injured worse that I was. My insurance limits are only $15,000 for medical and other damages to him. His attorney did not settle for the $15,000 and will probably be suing me personally for the rest of the money to cover his bills. He was in the hospital for 2 months, so I am expecting these bills to be about $500,000. Who will pay these bills, and if the answer is ME (a college student who doesnt own anything, not even a car) how do they expect me to come up with that amount of money? Will they take a percentage out of my paychecks for the next 70 years? Or will I have to claim bankruptcy? I don't understand who will pay for these bills when I can't possibly pay that amount of money.
