what a mess

What is the name of your state? NC

Our son is in the marine corp. My husband took out an auto loan for a used car for our son. Our son paid for the car, got a bill of sale, got full insurance and took possession of the car.
The title is still in the hands of ford motor credit waiting to be transferred from orginal owner to our son. So the car is still titled and registered to the orginal owner, but my son has full ins. on this car.

On saturday night the car was stolen and set on fire. It is totally destroyed. The party that stole the vehicle and burnt it up has no relationship to either my son or orginal owner,he has been arrested with charges of larcency, arson, dwi and underage drinking.

How will this work out??
