what will happen if i had said i was driving but not and i was in the car?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Illinois
my now huband and i were in a lil car accident which wasnt our fualt and my husband was driving becuse he had told me he had his licence and after the hit he told me to say i was driving it all happen so quick it was my car that was in it and now i owe 4,000 for the other car bcuse it was newer and they susbended my licence. i later found out my husband didnt have a licence nor did he pay the insurence that i had thought was payed. now what will happen if i tell them i wasnt the one driving?

Most likely the debt is on both of you either way.

Why do you owe $4,000 if it wasn't your fault?

And if you tell who? The insurance company or the Police?
