In Florida insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver.
The DMV suspends the drivers license of those who maintain a vehicle as registered (keep the tags) but fail to maintain the insurance.
Florida allows co-ownership and co-registration.
I believe the wife acted unlawfully in removing her husband from the insurance policy of the vehicle, if they are co-owners and co-registrants of a vehicle.
Of course she does not need to maintain his vehicles insurance. But she can't just drop him from THEIR vehicle.
This is why both sides need a divorce lawyer to iron out these details for separation and pending divorce.
