What is the name of your state? Ohio
If the police were not called to an accident and no citation was written, but it is reported to the insurance company in order to cover a damage claim (too high to cover personally), will it show up on the driver's record throught the DMV, or will it just increase insurance rates in the future?
This accident involved 2 vehicles, one was damaged, the driver of the other car was at fault, but his vehicle was not damaged. The driver would be submitting the claim through his insurance since he is at fault, it is his first accident and he is only 16.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

in new york, when an accident is reported to the broker or agent, the driver signs an accident report (mv104) one copy goes to the insurance company, the other to the dept. of motor vehicles. i have no idea whether or not this is a nationwide practice.
