my husband was injured on the job 12/99 he had surgery 01/00 will not be returning to work. what are his chances of winning a lawsuit against work comp carrier?

Mississippi, he works for UPS, he was lifting
a box on the truck, he had a laminectomy in Jan. 2000 and now has scar tissue pressing on nerves, his doctor doesn't recommend another surgery because in his opinion he would be in worse shape, this is his second surgery, first one was about 9 years ago, same company different disc ruptured.
