I'm Gary. I live in Houston, TX. I have been unemployed for 2 years and have not been able to pay my credit card debts. My creditors where notified when I left my job. I was just wondering if I can be incarcerated for not being able to pay my credit card debts.

I am still looking for work and have no income. My roommate is taking care of living expenses.

Thanks in advance!

My response:

Debtor's prisons were abolished a little more than 100 years ago. So, in answer to your question, no, you can't go to prison for the failure or inability to pay your debts.
