ambulance liability

an ambulance is called for an unconscious person and takes the person to a hospital (los angeles california). On waking in the emergency room, the person refuses service and leaves the hospital. Subsequently, the person recieves $5000 in bills from ambulance, hospital, doctors, etc.
Since the person did not request, authorize, or contract in any way for their services, is he liable to the doctors/ambulance, etc????
