auth buyer vs. joint ...

What is the name of your state? Arizona... hi.. i was added as an auth buyer on a family members acct, however the credit card co placed me (without signature) as a joint acct holder. this acct has been in default for the past year. i notified, as did the primary card holder, to the credit card co several years ago to remove my name, as i had not requested to be added as a joint holder. i have never received a card, nor have i benefited from the acct. the acct is now in review of an attys office, of which they continually call me for this debt. i advised them i disputed the acct in full with the creditor and with the atty office. they advised me they would send me a copy of the application (which will not have my signature). this has been several months and i have not received anything. the creditor also failed, per my request for evidence of my signature on a sales slip, application, request for being added to the acct etc, and they have not, in several years provided me with this request as well. this is showing on my credit report (negatively). what steps can i now take to get this removed from my credit report? family member did not forge my name, error on creditor part as they added as joint instead of auth user... any suggestions? thanks

Have you disputed in writing? If not, send a validation letter CRRR? Demand something with your signature. When they receive the request for validation, they must note on your credit report that the account is in dispute. Go to www.creditnet.com for some sample validation letters and modify them to fit your circumstances.
