Authorization of credit reportMaine/New Hampshire (1)I have had a credit card account for about 3 years, I just recently received a statement from the company stating that they pulled my credit and as a result of what was on my report- raising my 'apr' considerably. Now, I did not authorize them to pull my credit. Is that illeagal? (2)The same company claims I have been late 5 times in the past 6-months, I know this isnt true. Can I request a payment history from them? (3)I found out that this company had previously raised my 'apr' without giving me any notification of such. Do they have a right not to give me proper notification. (4)What can I do? Small claims court? or spend some money on a full size lawsuit? Ive also read that this company was recently accused of fraud. |

| 1 - No, its not illegal. CC companies sweep CR's all the time to assess the credit standing of their customers. 2 - Sure. Send them a WRITTEN request for a complete run-down of the account including payment history. I'd send it certified, RRR, so you have proof that they received it and when. If they stall on you, you have proof of how long they've had your request. 3 - Read your card holder agreement. They can do this whenever they want and they don't have to notify you at all. 4 - You don't have grounds for anything in small claims court.. yet. Wait for the full account history and THEN maybe you'll have something. If they are reporting false info to the CRA's you can sue them for violations of the FCRA.

| As to item #2. Do you have your back statements? If you were late, they would have charged a late fee. See if any fees are on the statements and then send them copies to prove your point. |
