Authorized User Incorrectly Listed As Joint Account on CC

What is the name of your state? CA

Well, not that it's bad enough that I (a) have to file BK, (b) have to do it myself because I don't have $ for an attorney**************...now...(c) one of the cards has incorrectly listed the authorized user (my best friend) as a JOINT account! I had been robbed twice in the last 5 years and had to cancel my cards. This last time, I started receiving the statement from this particular card (Household Bank) addressed to both me and my friend, the authorized user. I called 4 times and spoke to supervisors each time requesting that her name not appear on the mailing address as she is simply an authroized user. Each time they apologized for the mistake and said that it would be corrected, but never was.

So when I ordered up my 3 credit reports online this morning and saw that account was listed as a joint account I called the only number active at this hour which was the online help number. The guy pulled up my account and said yes it is a joint account and that Household doesn not have authorized users.....any person using the card is a joint account holder. He said to call the main number during business hours which I will do.

Meanwhile, I went to Household Bank's web site and lo and behold there is an option to, "Change Authorized User" and another to "Add Authorized User."

I wanted to file BK immediately and now cannot until I make sure my friend doesn't suffer negative consequences.

Does anyone out there have ideas or experience on how to retroactively get this corrected so my friend is not affected by my BK? I just can't believe this is happening. I'm pleading for help with this.

Thank you!
