Automobile Lease Problem

I recently returned a leased car after the lease was up. When I first leased the car, I informed the dealer that I need extra miles on the car every month. They told me that it was NOT a problem and told me that they added the extra miles onto the lease.

Now the bank is telling me that I owe them over $3000 for the excess miles. I could only come up with $1000. There is NO way that I could come up with the other $2000. I have alot of other bills to pay.

What legal action can the bank take against me, because there is no way that I can EVER get the $2000. WIll I go to jail for this?

Thanks for your help!

First of all, have you looked at the lease you signed and see if the mileage was added as they claimed.
If not, the bank can sue and if they win proceed to garnish your wages and attach assets if your state law allows that action.
