bad check from Nigeria

What is the name of your state? Czech Republic

We are a company from Czech Republic. We have recieved a cheque from our customer from Nigeria on 5000 USD issued on an American bank - Washington Mutual. The transaction was made in Nigeria.

When we let this cheque to our home bank to encash - it came back with a report "insufficient funds". Please, could you help us advising us our possibilities to force the account owner to transer the funds on the account or at least advise some contacts to some institution or company that could help.

Sorry, US laws only.

However, I will warn you that ANY check from Nigeria is suspect and should be cashed AND CLEARED before you ship anything or make any financial comittments!!!

Nigeria is a well documented country of scammers and con-artists. Take a look at:

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Darn right Halket! I have some friends that export food products. They say when the customer is Nigeria, they don't even commence packing operations until there are good funds in the acount.
