Bad Transaction, bank ruled in my favor

What is the name of your state? texas

a few weeks ago, some company called me to say i was invited in a discount program where i could get free things and meals from restaurants and stores called Shopping Spree

It shippd from Shopping Spree, Universal Power marketing.

The cost would be 65 dollars to join and be sent my card. I told them i loved the idea but was short on cast, i was 4 days from getting my check (I'm paid monthl) and couldnt do it at the moment.

Heh. The lady quickly explained they could debit the money at any time i specified. I asked her abotu the legitimacy of the program, she sadi everything was even being recorded I told her to debit it on the 15th of the next monthb ecause I would have themoney for sure then, just in case my check was delayed.

She said it was entered in the system, my card will arrive in 2-4 weeks. 2 days later the transaction appared on my credit card account, in my online summary, as paid 65 dollars, she charged me that day and caused me to overdraft twice! I would -not- have overdrafted without the charge, because the purchases were small food items to carry us over until the 1st of the month. I called the bank and immediately contested it to get my money and the overdrafts reversed

They gave temp credit, refunded the overdraft, reversed the second pending overdraft, then said they would investigate. my letter came saying the investigation found in my favor and my money would remain.

Problem is, i sent the card back, mailed itto them with the exact address sent from. it was returned to sender right back to me! What do I do with it? do I keep it, burn it, tear it up?

oooh got an update, i finally opened up the envelope and foun the company's number to call them! they said i passed the 3 day return limit, bu ti told them "well, my bank found in my favor, i -did- try to mail it back after i got confirmation of the temporary credit, then it just returnd to me. Now, i am calling after confirmation of permanent credit" all they did was say they had sent my file to another bureau o ftheir company and that i would receive a call.

am i still in the right? since i did try to send it back, DID go through the proper channels with my bank (had to to get the overdraft fees reversed), and did call them once i figured the number might be inside the envelope?

Keep it, you have your credit, you sent it back within the three days. they sent it back, so it must be yours. save the package to prove you sent it back and they refused it

You were right. it was a collector from this 'other branch'. A collector whom i happily and politely told to listen to the tape. She said she'd call back in half an hour, which she did, and said she had no idea how the lady messed up because even she clearly heard me state the 15th, and the seller agree to it.

I'm in the clear, whoo!
