Bank error!!!Alright, I am in Texas. A few months back, my old bank accidently deposited 1500 into my account. I periodically withdrew that money and now, like 3-4 months later, they call me wanting that money back. Am I obligated to return the money since it was their error and it took them several months to correct it? |

| No, you don't get to keep their money. You will have to return it. |

| Did you REALLY think they wouldn't catch the error and want that money back ???? If you don't give it back to them volutarily, they will take whatever you DO have and possibly sue you for the rest of it !

| If it were the other way around, you would expect the bank to make it right. |

| Basically what you did amounts to theft. The money wasn't yours and you should have reported it as soon as you realized there was a problem. So pay the bank back what you owe them! ![]() |
