Bank fees

What can I do about being reported to Chexsystems even though I feel that my present bank has committed some form of fraud? I feel that I have been charged over 40 insufficient funds fees unfairly and have been trying on the phone and in person to clear this up with WAMU. By them reporting me, my new bank will not allow me to use my card. please advise!

How do you feel your bank has committed fraud? How did you accrue 40 NSF fees?

It is going to be very difficult to prove fraud on the part of your bank. I have a sinking suspicion that the problem lies in how you handled your financial affairs.

Let me ask you, did WAMU close your account? Did that account close with you owing a balance? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then your best bet is speak to WAMU about paying them back. If in fact your account did close with an O/D balance then seeking relief for the NSF fees is not likely. You had the opportunity to discuss that when the account was open.

Chex Systems is going to follow you for at least the next five years and will limit your banking choices.

Anothermoron....40 NSFs is nothing, I've seen numbers in excess of 100 DAYS of NSF activity in a rolling 12 months. That only means days, there are normally multiple items on each day. People need to stick to basics and keeping a running balance of their account by using a check register. When people see the balance at the ATM and then use that as what they can spend, they will get in trouble each and every time.

As a banker I do try and educate my clients (mostly their kids) on how to handle their finances. My favortie one- liner is "If a $4.00 latte at Starbucks ends up costing you $40.00 because you don't handle your money right, then you have no one else but yourself to blame!"

i have gotten around this by sueing the bank manager for mishandling my account
the judge accpeted the case and we are being heard ****small claims****
they for no reason started putting holds on my payrool checks then bouncing all my checks never telling me why confidental ifo is all they would say
i found out the bank manager was releaseing the holds on my checks early so she could get bounos points it is how they get thier bounous .
wamu is doing this on purpose and if you want to sue them in civil court then get in line they will be long gone before your case is heard
i will post what the judge says on the 26th this month
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

you make no sense at all. First there are holds on your account and then you say the manager is releasing them early to get points.

No bank on God's green earth is going to give anyone "bounos" points for removing holds early. I can see the flood of returned items now

Here we go again with conspiracy theories....hey does anyone know if the moon is really made out of cheese?

Hmm, my spouse and I have been WaMu customers for years. I've always been very pleased with the service. They even let the occasional screw up on our end slide and subsequently lose out on the fee they're entitled to charge. If that's their idea of ripping off their customers then they're going about it all wrong.
