Bank Problem

Back in May, 2001, I had a return deposit in my checking account for $4,700. I arranged for two separate payments to the bank, one for $2,400 and one for $2,300 within a 60 day period. I made both payments, and the bank sent me back the returned check. Last month, 9 months later, the bank called and said I never paid them for the returned check. I was in shock. I have the returned deposit check as my reciept and I paid the bank in a certified check for the 1st $2,400, but cash for the second $2,300. Isn't the check my proof I paid the debt? HELP!!!!!!!

I found this website about banking in GA

http://www.ganet.org/dbf/faqconsumer.html#FI4

They want you to try and work it out with your institution first, if that doesn't work out, you can file a complaint. The website above tells you about that and has a link for complaints.
