is bankruptcy right for me?

What is the name of your state? nc

can someone force you to file bankruptcy? to make a long story short we bought a vehicle and then had to turn it in due to change in income...i lost my job. we thought we were doing the right thing because we knew we couldn't afford the vehicle and there was no chance of refinancing according to the finance company. we have about 7 credit cards and alot of medical bills on our credit...the payments on everything including our vehicles are caught up but now the finance company that financed the vehicle says we owe 14000.00 but they will take 9000.00 cash....we can't pay that kind of money and can't get a loan because of them....they say if we don't pay they will force us to file bankruptcy.....should we file bankruptcy ourself or what...we do not have any assets to sell to pay them either?...help...

There is such a thing as involuntary bk but it's seldom used and only by creditors who feel someone is about to transfer assets. You're getting a load of BS.
As to the bk question? Talk with a few bk lawyers. Most will give free initial consultations.
