Being sued

Texas

I am at wits end.Do not know what to do.I am being sued by my credit card. Got card in 1996 We was paying on our card than hubby had to have a triple bypass so we got way behind on all our bills. We are in a debt consolidation program to help us pay our bills. All the other creditors are working with us but First Card. Now they are sueing us.They want $17761.76 and $5,920.59 in attorney fees.We can not afford a lawyer to fight this and do not want to file bankrupt .What can we do if the lawyers will not work with us ?

Pretty much nothing. The attorney's don't have to 'work' with you... but YOU have to work with the creditor who loaned you HIS money so that you can purchase YOUR stuff.
The obligation to repay your debt is on YOU.

So, with that, your question really becomes... what will happen if you don't pay your debts??
And the answer to that is... they (the creditors) can get a judgment against you and pursue their claim pretty much forever. A judgment in Texas is good for 10 years and renewable. And it will continue to accrue interest until paid.

So, your only choices are:
1) Pay them, or
2) Ignore them, or
3) Consider filing for bankruptcy protection.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
