| I got a letter from Discover Card proposing to increase the annual percentage rate for cash advances based in part on information in my credit report obtained from TransUnion Corp. I can request a copy of the report. However, Discover states that TransUnion will be unable to provide information about their decision.
Discover states that my current account profile is the basis of their decision.
My account has been never delinquent or over limit. I did not ask for an increased spending limit. I did not give Discover permission to review my credit report. In view of this, can Discover review my credit report without my permission?
I can object to the increase, but if I do, they will close the account and I will pay the balance under th current terms.
I live in Maryland. Do I have any recourse? |
