car loan on totaled car

What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I was recently involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist. She totaled my car and my insurance is only willing to give me what the car is worth. My question is: I owe an additional 9,000.00 on the car. My car loan people are demading payment in full for the remaining balance and are completely unwilling to work with me on payment arrangements. I did not even cause this accident and now I have to purchase another vehicle, I can not afford to pay this car off. What options do I have if they will not work with me?

**A: you still owe the money. Have you thought about suing the guilty party?

The girl that hit me couldn't afford to keep insurance on a 1993 Corsica, I doubt that I will get anything from suing her. Also, I have learned that she is not responsible for what I owe. She is only responsible for the damage she infilcted on the car and my ins. co. is suing her for that.
What I need to know is if my car loan people are not willing to work with me on payment arangements what can I do?
