car repo in 1995What is the name of your state? washington state Ii had a car repossed on sept 12 1995. it was sold i guess and now am liable for the rest of the loan. this is the first i've heard from anyone on this issue. they ( americredit ) just started calling me at all hours about a month ago. am i still obligated to pay this amount of 5500.00 as surley i can't. what can they still do to me and are they just harassing me to just collect a time-barred debt if this is the case. i don't know the sol in this kind of matter. i also never recieved a judgement or anything else ecept for a bill stating that this is what i owe and it just came a few weeks ago after a phone call. |

| The SOL for a written contract in Washington state is 6 years. So, unless they have a judgment against you, the debt would be time-barred. Send them a WRITTEN request (certified RRR) to validate the debt. I suggest you use the form and 'questionaire' found at: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/
__________________ There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) filed in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution). Why has he spent over $1.7M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| If they do have a judgement against me, how long do they have from the date of judgement to collect/ |

My response: Judgments in Washington State are enforceable for 10 years from the date granted, and renewable every 10 years. A judgment carries a 9% annual interest rate. Better hope it's not a judgment! IAAL |
