CC company looking at bank accountWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? South Carolina. I am on a payment plan with my credit card company and they have been trying to reach me via telephone. I also have a checking account with this company and they used information from a check that I deposited from a contractor to contact that contractor in an attempt to find me. This contractor's information is not listed anywhere on my credit reports, etc., and this is not an employer but someone I have a freelance contract with. Is this legal?!What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |

| Get another checking account at a different bank. If you are behind on your payments, as soon as you deposit any noticeable sum into your current account, your bank may choose to remove those funds from your account to pay off your CC debt. I have never heard of this tactic of contacting your deposited check writers, but I do not know of a law against it. Hiding from your creditors it not going to make things better. |
