CC LawsuitWhat is the name of your state? Texas I am currently about to head into a lawsuit concerning a CC debt of about $9000. They have tried to serve me with papers at my previous residence, but were unable to, as the family member still living there refused to sign. I have no assets, no property in my name. I do have direct deposit for my check into my only checking account. I believe I am right in thinking wage garnishment is prohibited in the state of Texas, but account liens are perfectly plausible. Should I stop my direct deposit, and empty the checking account? At this point in time, a payment plan is not really feasible considering my monthly income. I had tried to work a deal with the debt collector at one point but they refused a payment plan as an option. The debt is about 2 years old Any input on the matter would be greatly appreciated |
