Cell debt on credit

What is the name of your state? CA---A couple of years ago I signed a one-year contract with a wireless phone company. After about three months, my account reached its spending limit ($200.00) and the company shut off my phone and would not reactivate it until the balance dropped below $200.00. Over the next nine months they continued to charge me $39.99 per month even though I couldn't use my phone. They did that until the year was up and now it's on my credit history. I asked the wireless company if I paid the amount owed, if they would give me the nine months of service. They said "no", and that my contract was up. I think I got screwed. I don't think I should have to pay for service that I can't ever use. If I don't pay for it, it's on my credit report. Is that just the way the ball bounces?

You screwed yourself on this one. And probably just before the SOL expires, you will hear from them again, pay us or we will sue you.
