Charge offs

What is the name of your state? Arkansas

I have three credit cards that currently show charge offs on my credit report. But they still show a balance. I have recently moved and have not been contacted by anyone concerning these cards in over 6 months. So, my question is, what are the chances that a collection agency would pick up these accounts after they have been written off by the card companies?

What are the chances? That depends. What was the date of the last activity for these cards? Activity would be a charge or payment. If they have just been charged off I have a guess that your DOLA is not very long ago, but I'll wait for your answer.

2 of the cards reported the charge off this month and the other in February.

In that case, the chances are extremely high that for the next 2 years or longer you will find yourself dodging CAs. The SOL for CCs (open accounts) in Arkansas is three years, so you are still responsible for these debts.

By the way, the fact that you moved is probably why you have not been contacted in six months. I would make sure they have at least your current address. If they decide to seek a judgment against you they will notify your by mail. You don't want them to win a default judgment against you in court just because they couldn't find you.

Good luck.
