Question

Charged off account

What is the name of your state? Mississippi

When I was 18 years old when I got a Nissan pickup truck I had it for about a year
Before I found it hard to make the payments so I turned it into
The Loan company as a repossession this was 04/1996 - 09/1997
The finance price was $19,635.00 they charged off the account
With a balance of $3,877.00. I need advice on what to do in this matter should I try to pay off the balance ? Or should I just wait till 09/2003 for the seven years to be up?

Please HELP ME

Have you been harrassed by any collection agencies since it was repo'd ?? The SOL for being sued on a deficiency for a repo is 4 years, per the UCC. So, that SOL has likely run out. If you're not being harrassed, I'd just let it fall off at the 7 year mark.

Unhappy

Charge-off

No one has called me but I did something really dim about a week ago I called him or her up to see about paying it off then after I
Talked to them I found out about the seven years drop off and that if I did pay it off it would update my record and stay on another 7 years. But I gave him my new home phone and address
When I talk to them so I am now thinking he will start to harass me about it and I just wanted to now where I stood in the matter

Thank you,
For any help you can give me

IF they harrass you at this point, with the SOL past, all you do is send them a cease and desist letter telling them to go take a flying leap as the debt is time-barred. If you need one, we can direct you to a letter to use, just in case
