hi, i am in south dakota and I have a question redarding checkrite check verification services. 2 years ago I wrote a check and to make a long story short, it was returned to checkrite only after 1 processing (I called the bank the moring it was returned and was told by an associate that it would not be returned). I have since closed that account with that bank and have opened another account with another bank. my question is this, can checkrite hold my new account because of the bad check on the old account? and second, if an employee of a bank says that they will do something and does not, is the bank responsible to live up to what their representative said they would do?(I had the money in the bank later that day).

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Don't mention names of people or companies on this board.

As for representatives of companies, they act as the agent of the company. As such, their representations made within the scope of their employment are the adopted representations of the company (known as the principal).

But...with money in accounts, if I understand this, is your responsibility.
